New Rules from LA spearfishers

E-mail Print PDF

It appears that new rules where pasted for Hogfish after reports of Commercial Speros from LA were reported working the NC coast.  It was rumored that big hauls of Hogfish were showing up at local fish markets.  I heard one report from a friend that one boat sold 3500 pounds of hogfish alone.  That is all hersay of course but it appears that it Marine Fishers took action and pasted a rule to address the issue none the less.

VIII. Hogfish
It is unlawful to possess more than 150 pounds of hogfish (hog snapper) per vessel, regardless of the number of persons onboard, for commercial purposes.

Horah,  maybe there will be some left for the rest of us after all...

If you wish to talk about it further, start a forum discussion....I am sure someone out there would love to share an opinion on the subject....
